Lake Superior Provincial Park

Skill Level: Beginner to advanced

Some of the finest paddling to be found in North America is within 6 hours drive of most of Michigan here along Lake Superior’s North shore. You can see pictographs from the seat of your kayak as you explore nooks and crannies, islets and bays. We’ll paddling from Agawa Rocks toward Old Woman Bay checking out all the hidden gems along the way; Gargantua, Devil’s chair, Peregrine Falcons, great meals and beautiful sunsets. You deserve a Superior Trip! There are two different routes we can take depending on interest and/or ability levels. For a more wilderness oriented trip with a bit more exposed paddling, we’ll begin at Gargantua and head northward to Old Woman Bay, for a slightly easier trip that hits all the classic Pictograph sites, we’ll go from Montreal River Harbor to Gargantua.

Day 1) Routing will have been chosen prior to this to arrive at put-in by 2 pm on Wed.   Short paddle (4-5 miles).   

Days 2-4) Our destinations will vary in length and destination depending on skill levels, desires and, of course, weather. Along the way… Agawa Bay (pictographs site), Gargantua, lot’s of things that seem to belong to the Devil (chairs, etc…).

Day 5) Early morning paddle to mid-day shuttle back to our rides home. 

Trip fee includes: expert instructor guides, all group gear (tents, kitchen gear, safety and camp gear), camping fees, maps, shuttle fees, dry bags and gourmet backcountry fare.

You do need a touring kayak at least 15 feet long, with front and rear bulkheads. High performance expedition-equipped rentals are available from us for $100 for 4 day trips and $150 for one week trips with prior reservation. They include PFD, carbon hybrid paddle, sprayskirt and pump. We will transport your rental boat for you. We offer a variety of sizes and models from Valley, Wilderness Systems, Hurricane and P&H...all with drop skegs.

Cost: $695 / person

Registration: A $150 deposit is required to hold your space. Upon registration we will send you a gear list and survey to help us tailor the experience better to your needs. You can also download these off our website. Reservation fees are refundable until 30 days before the trip. The balance is also due 30 days prior to departure. Space is limited to 6, so plan ahead...
