Lake Superior Provincial Park This linear trip will travel northwestward along the Sibley peninsula. It is one of the jewels of wild Lake Superior shoreline, not a park but a mix of private and Crown land. We’ll travel upwards of 15 miles day mixing crossings with island hopping, sheltered back bays and open exposure. For those with some paddling experience and comfort in 2-3 ft seas this will be a trip you won’t forget, offering waterfalls, lighthouses, and yes, even a sauna or two along the way. This trip will be led by both Michael Gray and Bonnie Perry with plenty of great plan Bs in case of more challenging weather.

Day 1) (Saturday) Rendezvous in Rossport at the Rossport Inn by at 6 p.m. for orientation dinner and wrap up backcountry packing.

Days 2) 8 am boarding of shuttle to Silver Islet to begin our paddling journey.  First day’s paddling with be shortish 6-7 miles to get us warmed up.

Days 3-7) The heart of the trip--you'll find yourself paddling an average of 4 to 6 hours hours/day sandwiched with day hikes, fishing, shooting photos, looking for critters and beach stones among the cobbles and listening to the music of our largest freshwater sea. You should be prepared for temps between 40- 80...bring a wool hat and a swimsuit. We'll be covering 75miles total with a fairly relaxed traveling pace. You can count on learning lots of new paddle skills and having a truly spectacular experience.
