You’ll leave this workshop with a deeper understanding of concepts and some very solid teaching tools that come from two lifetimes of real-world on water experience.

We’ll run this course with four and cap at eight candidates, so book early to lock in your spot. A follow up ICE will offered in the Sleeping Bear area in the fall.

This course is just prior to the Port Austin Sea Kayak Symposium, so you can attend both!

Grand Island Trip and Level 3 ACA Skills Training

Grand Island is the perfect context for a traveling course like this.

Skills like simple navigation, campsite selection, trip planning, group leadership, reading your environment and outdoor cooking are just part of a trip experience…we’ll do this as a group and it will feel less like a course and more like going paddling with a group of friends.

Course Minimum is 3 and maximum is 6 with a 3:1 student to instructor ratio.

By scheduling just before the Great Lakes Sea Kayak Symposium in Grand Marais, you can get the most out of your travel time and precious vacation days.

Rescue Training

Prerequisites: Practice with the following strokes: forward, backward, stopping, reverse, sweeps and rudders. Have practiced wet exits and t-rescues.

Dates and Cost for 2014:  July 13 - 16 - $400

Location: Grand Island, Michigan

Details: Please see full Trip / Course Description for details and registration.
