New Car features for 2010, Blueberries and Training Camp
When I was a kid, the year 2010 held George Jetson visions of flying cars and robo-dogs. My 10-year-old blueberry picking buddy, Annabel and I believe we’ve come up with a neat new feature for the 2010 model year of cars…cooled ice cream cone holders. Okay, that was Annabel’s thought…mine was built in fly-rod holders.
On the path of blueberries…our Georgian Bay crew of John and Teri and I grazed our way from island to island a couple of weeks ago and coined some new outdoor food phrases. My friend Jay’s correct in that I really can’t cook for only 2 or 3. I overpacked the food a bit for our weeklong island hopping trip that included more than a couple ludicrous breakfasts of wild blueberry/raspberried pancakes with eggs and hashbrowns. Extreme cuisine in the outdoors doesn’t seem to be a problem for our campers at all. I’d say that’s a good thing because Greenland Training camp is next weekend and I’ve been gathering and preparing foodstuffs for 4 days of remote camp meals for 65 people. I never want to see food again. I wonder if I get this year’s winter job in Antarctica…will they make me cook? Probably.
